James T. Casey, B. Comm., LL.B., Q.C., is a partner at Field Law’s Edmonton office, where he specializes in labour and
employment law, administrative law, and professional regulation. In addition to providing representation and strategic advice in all labour
and employment matters, he also serves as a part-time Vice Chair of the Labour Relations Board and acts as a labour arbitrator. Mr. Casey
also acts as legal counsel for numerous professional organizations, providing advice in all areas of professional regulation including
legislation, discipline, scope of practice and government relations. He has been retained by both provincial and federal government agencies
to provide advice on professional regulation issues, including the development of legislation. Mr. Casey has been named as a leading lawyer
in Lexpert® in the areas of labour relations and employment law and was included in the inaugural edition of <span class="italicized">`Best Lawyers in Canada'</span> in
the areas of labour and employment law and alternative dispute resolution. A frequent speaker at professional conferences and training
seminars on professional regulation, he is the author of numerous publications, including two books: The Regulation of Professions in Canada
and A Guide to the Health Professions Act. He is also the editor of the text Remedies in Labour, Employment and Human Rights Law.
